Hanukkah Snacks For Preschool

Hanukkah Snacks For Preschool

Directions for 20+ easy Hanukkah snacks for preschool through 2nd grade.

We make edible dreidels. Take a chocolate kiss and attach a mini marshmallow with frosting or peanut butter to the flat side of the kiss. Insert a pretzel stick into the mini marshmallow. The children can then spin their own edible dreidel.

Potato Latkes

Ingredients

3T unsifted flour

1 1/2 lbs. potatoes

1 small onion

1 egg

1 t salt

1/8 t pepper

Wash, peel, and grate the potatoes and onion. Mix dry ingredients with potatoes and onions. Grease a skillet and drop tablespoons of the potato mixture onto it. Fry both sides until brown. Let cool. Enjoy with applesauce.

Shin Newtons

Make dreidels out of fig sandwich cookies!  Cut two sides of the cookie diagonally.  Add a pretzel stick.  Outline with white frosting.

Star of David Crispy Snacks

Follow your favorite recipe to make rice crispy snacks.  Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the treats.  Decorate with frosting.

You could also use other Hanukkah cookie cutters for more variety.

Materials:

9 Blue cupcake liners
9 Cupcakes (your favorite recipe)
Blue frosting
9 KitKat sections
9 Goldfish shaped crackers

Bake the cupcakes.  Frost with blue frosting.  Add a KitKat section into the top of the cupcake (candle).  Break the tails off of the goldfish-shaped crackers (flame) and secure on the top of the KitKat with a little bit of frosting.

Line up the cupcakes (4 on each side) and elevate the 9th one in the center.  Voila!  A Menorah!
