Valentine’s Day Snacks


Heart shaped Krispie Treats Make normal recipe of Rice Krispie treats, but add red food coloring to butter/marshmallow mixture, cut out with heart cookie cutters. If you do not have heart cutters you can either use a knife to cute them out or cut out a square and shape with your hands.


With all the food allergies our preschoolers may have, here’s a simple way to express your love during the Valentine Holiday. Let each child have a slice of bread, a plastic knife or a craft stick to spread a little butter, and some cinnamon sugar to sprinkle before toasting. If you want a heart shaped cinnamon toast design simply press the cookie cutter shape into the bread before toasting. Yummy!


MAGIC VALENTINES CREME DIP

HAVE KIDS MIX COOL WHIP AND 3-4 DROPS OF FOOD COLORING IN A BOWL UNTIL COLORED PINK. FOR DARKER COLORED, ADD MORE FOOD COLORING. THIS DIP IS GOOD FOR ALL KINDS OF THINGS LIKE: ALL FRUITS, COOKIES, CAKES…. ETC! YUM! WITH REMAINING MAGIC DREME DIP, YOU CAN PUT IT A ZIPLOCK BAG, AND TAPE THE TOP SHUT FOR MESS PROOF PLAYING. MAKE SURE THERE IS MINIMAL AIR INSIDE THE BAG SO IT DOES NOT POP. THE CHILDREN CAN SQUEEZE IT, GOOSH IT, TAKE THE ERASER END OF A PENCIL AND DRAW DESIGNS IN IT, MAKE HAND PRINTS, ROLL IT, WHATEVER! THERE IS SO MUCH YOU CAN DO! THE CHILDREN CAN EVEN DECORATE THE OUTSIDE WITH MARKERS AND GIVE IT TO A VALENTINE! ENJOY THIS YUMMY SNACK THAT IS ALSO AN ART PROJECT!

Have the children cut heart shapes out of prepared frozen pie crusts using cookie cutters. Curl up the edges and put their choice of Jelly or jam inside it- not too much. The oven should be at 350-375 degrees, and the heart tarts should cook for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Yummy yummy! Surprise Mommy!
