Cut out large heart shapes from construction paper. Have the hearts and bowls of red, pink, and white tempera paint on your art table. Have the children dribble the paint on the hearts with a spoon. Fold the hearts over and smoosh the paint all around. Open up the hearts and see the cool designs that the paint made!
Vinegar Heart Pictures
Have the children use a paint brush to cover a white piece of construction paper with white vinegar. Then, let the children place pre-cut red and pink tissue paper hearts all over the construction paper. When the vinegar dries, the tissue paper will fall off and will leave read heart prints.
