Foam letters to spell I Love You To Pieces
I did this project with my 3 and 4 yr olds and they loved it as well as the parents. I took pictures and developed them prior to making this project first the children glued puzzle pieces on to the picture frame they then glued on the foam pieces saying I love you to pieces, after drying we placed our photos in, wrapped them in tissue paper tied them up with a ribbon and gave them to the parents as valentines gifts It was a great hit.
A Smile and a Kiss This is a cute Valentine’s Day gift for parents. You will need a baby food jar for each child (I used Stage 3 because they are larger.) a supply of Hershey’s Kisses and a small picture of each child. Give each child a jar and have them paint it with glue, then sprinkle on some glitter. when dry have the children fill the jars with chocolate kisses. On the lid of each jar , glue a picture of the child (I used a scanned copy). Tie with a red ribbon and attach a tag that says ” A smile and a kiss for you on Valentine’s Day! Love, ”
Valentine’s Day Masks
You will need: Red or White masks, glue, collage materials (pom poms, metallic confetti, glitter, silver pen, rhinestones, foam pieces, etc.)
Directions: Have children decorate masks. For a classroom, children can work on their masks at home and return them to school fully decorated on a certain day. Be sure that they conceal their masks from one another. Next, display all the masks on the bulletin board and have the children sign their names to written guesses underneath all the masks. Have fun! You can use this craft all year round for any occasion too.
“The Love Bug” Items Needed: Styrofoam egg carton, red or pink pipe cleaners, red paint, small red heart shaped stickers. Cut the bottom of the carton into fours. (One carton can make four bugs) Paint heart shapes on the top of each section. Insert pipe cleaner into the first section and form a heart shape for the antenna. Use heart shaped stickers for the eyes. This is a really fun craft for the kids and they make wonderful gifts for the parents or grandparents! Variation: This can also be done as a caterpillar with many colors.
Valentines box for valentines day we bought red heart boxes. I hot glued lace around the edges. I mixed glitter with Elmer’s glue, and had the children paint the top of the boxes with this. They then added beads, pretty buttons, and any type of little trinkets. The moms loved them and they were very simple and easy for the children to do.
