Thanksgiving Songs

THANKSGIVING MEAL

The turkey is my favorite bird and

Pumpkin is my favorite pie and

Cranberry is my favorite sauce,

I wonder why.

I’m thankful for them all, Aren’t you?

And for the stuffing too.

A BIG TURKEY Tune: London Bridges

The pilgrim had a big turkey,

Big turkey, a big turkey;

The pilgrim had a big turkey

And he kept him in a fence.

FIVE LITTLE TURKEYS

Five little turkeys were standing by a door; one saw some corn, and then there were four.

Four little turkeys flew up in a tree; one fell down and then there were three.

Three little turkeys gobbled as they do; a dog chased one and then there were two.

Two little turkeys strutting in the sun; the wind came along and then there was one.

One little turkey saw a farmer with an ax; look at that turkey run! run! run!

Five Fat Turkeys Sitting On A Fence

Five fat turkeys sitting on a fence

The first one said,” Oh, my am I immense!”

The second one said, “I can gobble at you”

The third one said, ” I can gobble too”

The fourth one said, “”I can spread my tail”

The fifth one said, “Don’t catch it on a nail”

The farmer came by and had to say, “Turkeys look best on Thanksgiving Day!”

PILGRIM

The brave little pilgrim

Went looking for a bear.

He looked in the woods

He looked everywhere.

The brave little pilgrim

Found a big brown bear.

He ran like a rabbit

OH!!what a scare!

Gobble Gobble Gobble

I met a turkey gobbler

When I went out to play.

Mr Turkey Gobbler

How are you today?

Gobble, gobble, gobble,

That I can not say.

Don’t ask me such a question

On Thanksgiving Day.

Run Fast Little Turkey

Act out the following with your kiddo’s

The brave little Pilgrim

Went out in the wood

Looking for a meal

That would taste really good.

First she/he picked cranberries

Out in the bog.

Then she saw a turkey

Hiding in a log.

Run fast little turkey.

Run fast as you may.

Or you will come to dinner On Thanksgiving Day!

Five Fat Turkeys

Five fat turkeys are we.
We slept all night in a tree.
When the cook came around,
We couldn’t be found.
That’s why we’re here you see!

Who ate the Turkey?

My mama cooked the turkey; Everybody cheered! But, when the turkey plate was passed, the LEG had disappeared! Who ate the turkey?! All but a crumb? Mama and pawpaw softly said, “Yum-yum-yum!”

MR. Turkey (Are You Sleeping?)

Mr. Turkey, Mr. Turkey,
Big and fat, Big and Fat.
I’m gonna eat you! I’m gonna eat you!
Just like that! Just like that!
