How do I ... ?

Hey, Daylene, how do I print one idea without printing them all?

Good question!!  There are three ways that you can do this.  First, if you want to print the most current ideas, you can tell your printer to only print those pages.   Here is how you do it:

For All Browsers

1.  While holding down your LEFT mouse button, highlight the text that you would like to print.

2.  Look at the top of your screen and find the word FILE.  Click on it.

3.  Click on the word PRINT.

4.  Click on the dot next to the word SELECTION.

5.  Click OK.

Now, only the text that you highlighted will print!  A great big thank you goes out to a Perpetual Preschool reader for sharing this nifty tidbit with me :)

For MS Internet Explorer (Version 4.0 and higher)

1.  Click on the work FILE at the top of your web browser.

2.  Click on the word PRINT.

3.  Find the section entitled PRINT RANGE.

4.  Click on the dot next to the word PAGES.

5.  Enter in how many pages you want printed.  For instance, page 1 to page 1; page 1 to page 2; page 1 to page 3; etc, etc. etc.

For Netscape Communicator (Version 4.0 and higher)

1.  Click on the work FILE at the top of your web browser.

2.  Click on the word PRINT.

3.  Find the section entitled PRINT RANGE.

4.  Click on the dot next to the word PAGES.

5.  Enter in how many pages you want printed.  For instance, page 1 to page 1; page 1 to page 2; page 1 to page 3; etc, etc. etc.

Cut and Paste Method (All browsers)

1.  While holding down the LEFT button on your mouse, drag the cursor along the text that you want to save.  The text will become highlighted after you do this.

2.  Click on EDIT on the top of your web browser.

3.  Click on the word COPY.

4.  Open up a new document in your word processing program.

5.  Click on EDIT on the top of your word processing program.

6.  Click on PASTE.

7.  Voila!!!!  The text has appeared!

When you are done copying and pasting the text that you want, print it out as you normally would.

How do I start my own preschool?

I have received hundreds of e-mails asking my advise on how to start up a preschool.   Unfortunately, since I have never started up a preschool myself, I am kinda clueless about everything involved in this kind of endeavor.  You would definitely want to contact the state agency that regulates child care in your state.  I am sure they could point you in the right direction.

How do I do the Hokey Pokey?

You put one foot in
You put one foot out
You put one foot in and shake it all about
Do the Hokey Pokey and turn yourself around
That's what it's all about!

Where can I find ... ?

Golly gee, your site is soooooooo big!  Where can I find ideas that have been posted about planes, trains, and automobiles?

Yippee!!!!  It's Super Search Engine to the rescue.  If you can't find what you are looking for on The Perpetual Preschool, try using the really cool search engine.   Click here to check it out.

Where can I find other sites that deal with Early Childhood Education?

Check out the The ECE Web Guide.  This Internet guide is dedicated to listing only sites that are of interest to Early Childhood Educators.

Where's Waldo?

Hmmm........ I don't know.  Has anyone seen that funky looking guy in the red striped shirt and hat lately?

Why ... ?

Yoo-hoo.........Miss Daylene!  Why does it sometimes take 48 hours (and sometimes longer) to get my idea posted on The Perpetual Preschool.

Well, sometimes my staff of three (me, myself, and I) get kinda bogged down and the ideas do not get posted as fast as they should.  Believe it or not, posting your ideas to The Perpetual Preschool is not as easy as you think.  Here's what's involved.

1.  You post your super-terrific idea.

2.  I download all the ideas that have been posted.

3.  I sort through all the ideas and weed out all of the advertisements for vinyl siding, SPAM, and other things that do not pertain to early childhood education.

4.  Next, I correct any splling errers.............oops..... I mean spelling errors.

5.  I then post each idea under the most appropriate category.

6.  Finally, all of the revised pages are uploaded to the BIG computer in the sky that houses The Perpetual Preschool.

Depending on how many ideas that need to be posted, this process can take up to 2-4 hours each day.

Wowsers!!!!!!  Why do you do all that work?

When I first created The Perpetual Preschool, I made a commitment to myself that the information posted would be much more than the typical message board.  I strive to create a place where you do not have to sort through all of the XXXXX SPAM that you find on public message boards.  I also want to make it easier on YOU to find the ideas that you want, and need, to enhance your work with young children.

Yo, Miss Daylene!  What's the deal with all of the banner advertising on your site?

What was at first a hobby, is now a part time job.  Keeping The Perpetual Preschool updated with fresh and new topics is quite time consuming.  By offering the banner advertising, my time and costs are offset.  If I did not do this, I would have to make The Perpetual Preschool into a subscription based site.  As you can see, this is something that I clearly do not want to do because I want all Early Childhood Professionals to benefit from the information.

Why did the chicken cross the road????

To get to the other side........  (he he he he he he)

Can you ... ?

Hidee-ho there Daylene.  Can you send me all your ideas for a theme I am doing on dust?

As much as I wish I could answer individual theme idea requests via e-mail, I just do not have the time.  However, I keep my eyes open for the ideas that get requested A LOT.  This is where I draw the ideas from for new topics on The Perpetual Preschool.

Can you rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time?

Why, yes, I can :)
