Olympic Snacks

For an Olympic snack, we took butter cookies (the ones that look like flowers with the hole cut out) and let the children spread icing on them with their finger. This was so much fun and easy. The children seemed really enjoyed eating their art.

Edible Olympic Torch

You need: 1 sugar cone for each child
Lemon, orange or raspberry sherbet
Sugar sprinkles in yellow, orange and red

Give each child a cone filled with sherbet (you can use any one or a combination of the flavors listed) then have them sprinkle on the sugar and enjoy!

Energy Nibbles We make these to have on our sports day. Mix all ingredients together and put into plastic cups that are the same as your school sport houses or wrap in colored cellophane. Use whatever ingredients you like- cereals (Nutri-grain, puffed wheat, fruit loops), sultanas, jelly beans, mini marshmallows, chopped dried fruit.

“Olympic Emblems” Give each child 5 vanilla wafers. Have children frost cookies: 1 red, 1 black, 1 blue, 1 yellow, and 1 green. (Mix canned white frosting with food coloring pastes.) We had a “Teddy Bear Olympics”, and stuck a matching gummy bear to each frosted wafer.
