Father’s Day Art

Materials needed:
Popsicle Sticks
Nuts and Bolts
Hot Glue Gun
Picture of the child
Poster board (or sturdy piece of paper)

Have the children glue the popsicle sticks together (to make a square), then after the glue dries the teacher will hot glue the nuts and bolts to the frame. Take a picture of the child and glue it on the poster board. Then attach it to back of the frame. Makes a beautiful picture frame and what Dad wouldn’t love it.

Take a cute picture of each child, especially outside where it is nice and sunny. Make a popsicle stick frame and add coloured stones and anything that the kids can glue on themselves. Father’s will love this.

Magnets
Our school has left over pictures they get from the professional photographers. Have the kids cut out a circle (or prepare in advance).
Purchase the clear Marble Accents from a craft or hobby store.
Glue picture on back of stone using a glue that will dry clear such as Aleen’s Clear Gel Tacky glue, let dry. Then add a round magnet to the back of the picture, let dry and ready to use.

For Father’s day we made grillin sauce as we made it we discussed each ingredient and we all had a chance to taste it. Then when it was finished and all had approved we bottled it in recycled water bottles. Any recipe can be used. The fun is in the mixing, tasting , and using it

These are simple and inexpensive. Usually in public schools they have left over picture that are those little mini size. You get the rock stones that are flat and clear, I found them at JoAnn’s. Then you trace a circle around the picture, cut it out inside the lines. Then you use a clear glue and glue the picture then a magnet to the back. I let the picture dry a day before I did the magnet. However this isn’t necessary. You can use cards and all different items in place of a picture.

Then you have a magnet.

I got the Marble Accents at JoAnn’s and used their 40% off coupon..or they are called Clear Jumbo Gems. There are around 10-12 in a bag.

The glue is called Aleen’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue and it goes on clear and dries clear and strong.

I used round magnets 3/4 round 8 pieces per package.
