Fall Songs

(to i’m a little tea pot)

i’m a little corn stalk straight and tall, yellow is my color, i grow in the fall, go to the farmer’s market to pick me out, yummy in my tummy is what you’ll shout.

I have always found that my toddler/two year olds like this song and after singing the last line I throw purchased paper leaves that are laminated into the air. I even used this project when I was working on getting my C.D.A. in Early Childhood and the professor said that she was going to use it in the rest of her classes.

Leaves, leaves, falling down,

falling to the ground.

Red, and yellow, green, and brown,

Leaves are falling down.

Sung to the tune of “Row, Row Your Boat”

The movement is simple swaying of both hands falling down.

Lyrics:

Leaves, leaves falling down

Falling on the ground,

Red, yellow, orange, brown

Falling on the ground.

This is a cute song for fall.

I’m an acorn, small and round. (Kids make a little “o” with hands)

Lying on the cold, cold ground. (Fold hands and put beside head as if sleeping)

Everybody steps on me. (stomp foot)

That is why I’m cracked you see. (shrug)

I’m a nut. cluck, cluck (the “cluck cluck is actually a clicking with your mouth and you “knock” on your head)

I’m a nut. cluck, cluck (the “cluck cluck is actually a clicking with your mouth and you “knock” on your head)

I’m an acorn nut. cluck, cluck (the “cluck cluck is actually a clicking with your mouth and you “knock” on your head)

Have the children make a circle around a large pumpkin. While holding hands start singing.

Ring around the pumpkin

Orange, big and round.

Pumpkin seeds, Pumpkin seeds

We all fall down!

I work with 3-4 year olds and they loved this song. (sung to ring around the rosie.)
