Fall Songs

For thanksgiving/fall theme, gather leaves and bring inside in a common area. Give a few of the kids small brooms/rakes and sing the following words to “London Bridge”

Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down, Autumn leaves are falling down welcome Autumn.

Sweep the leaves and put them here ,put them put here, put them here, Sweep the leaves and put them here, welcome Autumn.

Jump right in and have some fun, have some fun, have some fun, Jump right in and have some fun-welcome autumn.

children participate in the activity in a circle and follow the cues for the activity.

(sung to the tune (The Wheels on the Bus)

The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown, orange and brown, orange and brown, the leaves on the trees turn orange and brown all through the town.

The leaves on the tree come falling down falling down, falling
the leaves on the tree come falling down all through the town.

The leaves on the ground go swish swish swish, swish swish swish, swish swish swish, the leaves on the ground go swish swish swish
all through the town

This is sung to the tune of BINGO.

ACORN

There is a nut that squirrels eat and ACORN is its namo-o
A-C-O-R-N

Repeat as the song goes and as you turn over the letters say CRUNCH in there place.

Crunch-C-O-R-N

This song is a modification (for my special needs preschoolers) of a song that is already posted….enjoy…

This is the Way We

“This is the way we pick up the leaves, pick up the leaves, pick up the leaves. This is the way we pick up the leaves, because they’ve fallen down!. (Each child picks up a leaf in the middle of the circle)

This is the way we throw the leaves, Throw the leaves, throw the leaves. This is the way we throw the leaves, because they’ve fallen down! (Each child throws their leaf into the middle of the circle)

This is the way we jump on the leaves, jump on the leaves, jump on the leaves This is the way we jump on the leaves, because they’ve fallen down. (Each child jumps forward into the circle)

Here is a second verse for “the Jingle Jangle Scarecrow”

When all the cows were sleeping and the sun was behind a cloud. Up jumped a scarecrow and shouted very LOUD! “I’m a Jingle Jangle scarecrow with a flippy floppy hat. I can shake my arms like this! And shake my arms like that!”

Revised line, I would like to correct.

Scarecrow, scarecrow standing in the field.

Wearing tattered clothes from his head to his heels.

Scarecrow, scarecrow standing day and night Giving big black crows a terrible fright.

Boo!
