Egg Games

In my classroom, I like to read the book Chickens Aren’t the Only Ones. Then we try to recall all the different critters that come from eggs. In my discovery table I place plastic Easter eggs. Inside the eggs are an assortment of small critters that come from eggs. I use rubber bugs of different types, goldfish, dinosaurs, snakes, lizards, turtles, ducks and anything else that I can find that is small enough that would hatch from an egg. The kids love discovering what is in each egg.

Color matching colored Easter eggs to colored egg carton cups. get an egg carton and color the inside of each egg cup a different color. Then set out the colored Easter eggs and have them match the correct color of egg to the same color in the carton.

Children match eggs to a bird in a nest. Have a bird sitting in a nest with a number on its wing. The children will place the correct number of eggs in the nest. Could also be used as an alphabet matching game.
