To reinforce the 1-11-01 of giving a tithe, let your children count out ten pennies (or M&M's, if there's a problem with putting things into mouths), and then show them how the first penny goes to God, and they keep the rest.

I wanted my preschool children to do a Lenten Service project and it be there's. We decided to make quiet bags for young children to use during church. I cut fabric (white or beige) into rectangles that when folded would be approximately 6" x 8". I had the children stamp and sponge paint the pieces of fabric. Next they decorated a donation box to sit in the church. I stitched the fabric pieces into cloth bags and the children used the decorated box to collect donations such as small activity books, crayons, puzzles, peg games, (someone sent a rubrics cube) etc. The children filled each bag with the donations. That Easter the bags were made available to the congregation and each Sunday there after. The bags were a big hit with children and parents alike.
