All About Me Songs

(Tune:  Frere Jacques)
I am special, I am special.
Turn around, you will see
Someone very special,
Someone very special
Yes, It’s me! Yes, It’s me!

(Tune:  Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star)

There’s no one who’s just like me,
No one who knows how to be.
Me when I am mad or sad.
Me when I am very glad.
There’s no one who’s just like me.
Me is who I’m proud to be!

“Tune:  The Bear went over the Mountain”

My fingers are starting to wiggle,
My fingers are starting to wiggle,
My fingers are starting to wiggle,
Wiggle all around.

(My hands, arms, head, are starting to wiggle, etc.)

My whole body’s starting to wiggle,
My whole body’s starting to wiggle,
My whole body’s starting to wiggle,
I guess I’ll just sit down.

To help teach my 4 and 5-year-olds their address and telephone numbers I make them into a sing-song rhyme. Example: 883-5462…you call me and I’ll call you or 5432 Oak Tree Street….Suzi lives there she’s so sweet! They learn this important information in record time.

I did this with my daughter when she was 4 years old.  She, too, learned her address with this chant:

Golden Gate Seminary
Judson 10 B
I live in really cool
Mill Valley
My Mama’s name is Daylene
And My Daddy’s name is Don
Now I know my address
Right ON!

This brought tears to my eyes.  My 4-year-old is almost 29.  She STILL remembers this address and chant from many moons ago!
