Patriotic Pretzel Wands

You will need one bag (or box) of long rod-shaped pretzels, one can of vanilla cake icing, and colored sugar in red and blue (can be found in the baking section of any store).

Dip the end of each pretzel rod in the frosting, then roll in the red & blue colored sprinkles. It makes a cute, yummy, and sparkling patriotic treat!

4th of July cake

This cake is delicious! You need two plain pound cakes, fresh strawberries, blueberries, and cool whip.
First, you slice up 1 pound cake and layer it into a 9 x13 cake pan. Add a layer of cool whip, then slice up the other pound cake and layer it on top of the cool whip. Now add one more cool whip layer. Children can arrange the blueberries in the left-hand top corner to represent the stars on a flag. Next, children can help to cut the strawberries in half( with plastic knives of course.) Layer each strawberry half across the cake (in rows) to represent the stripes. Leave a white (cool whip) space between each strawberry row. The kids will enjoy making this and have fun eating it too.
